2005 Speed Four
Drawn from the same
athletic gene pool as the Daytona 600, but with
something more than a little special added all of its
own, the stunning Speed Four proves that it is all in
the mix. And this mix, with its raucous engine,
surgically precise handling, jaw-dropping styling and
outrageous lines, sets the Speed Four a class apart.
Completely redefining
how a ‘naked’ 600cc machine should perform, the Speed
Four is a highly specified motorcycle with a
sophisticated 599cc, DOHC, sixteen-valve, liquid-cooled,
four-cylinder engine. Its cam profiles and EFI system
are specifically designed to give a broad spread of
mid-range torque and driveability. The slick six-speed
gearbox allows maximum use of the engine’s output as
does the Speed 4’s chassis.
The sweet-revving
engine is housed in a sharp-handling aluminium frame,
which blesses the Speed Four with razor-sharp and
accurate steering plus plenty of ground clearance. Fully
adjustable suspension front and rear provides a wide
range of set-up options and up front a pair of massively
powerful four-piston calipers clamp on 310mm floating
discs. The rear wheel features a 220mm disc and
lightweight single piston caliper.
The Speed Four then, combines near supersports
performance with a truly unique look and style. From its
distinctive pair of chromed headlights and compact
instrument cluster, nestling behind the saucy little fly
screen, to the twin air scoops and tasteful satin black
finish on the frame, engine and swingarm, the Speed Four
stands out. For 2005 the Triumph Speed Four is
offered in Neon Blue, and Jet Black. |
