Sport riders in the early 1970s pioneered the trend of
modifying their street bikes with technology previously
found only on the racetrack. When street bikes began
being fitted with clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs,
and painted in race colors all for performance as well
as aesthetic reasons, the Café Racer style was born.
The Sport1000 has inherited yet another outstanding
feature from the original Ducati sport bikes: reduced
overall weight. Tipping the scales at just 179 kg (395
lbs), you can feel how light it is whether you are going
at top speed or simply parking. The limited weight is a
distinct advantage of the Sport1000 when accelerating,
cornering or braking. It's the Cafe Racer style of the

bold style of Ducati's vintage Café Racers with a
comfortable dual seat and raised handlebars. While
classic twin shocks, a removable rear seat cover, and
brushed aluminum surfaces preserve the Café Racer look,
the Sport 1000 biposto features high performance
Marzocchi front forks, a massive 60mm swingarm, fully
adjustable Sachs shocks, and the convenience of a
two-seater. The look of the Sport 1000 biposto stays
true to the classic appeal of the bike while delivering
the superior road holding and performance you expect
